Velani

Velani was 16 years old when her visions sent the Seven Heroes off on their quest. Velani had a very difficult life and was brought up poor - a refugee forced out of her home by the armies of the Gold Dragon. Consequently she carried a grudge against Firgalas. Velani also held Firgalas' actions against his son Elianos, but over time they became friends, and there is no conflict there today. In fact, it was Velani who can be credited with saving Sabine and Elianos' marriage, as she was constantly giving him romantic advice. During their adventures, Velani was much lusted after by the then chieftain of the wolf-tribe of the Ticanee. . .the Dolo-Oshta. She had no interest in him; there were much more important things going on -- like new gods, a war, little things like that. The dolo-oshta, however, never gave up on her, and did everything in his power to get her to agree to marry him.

In the meantime, Velani was captured by Kenirikas and was witness to his villany when he and his men attacked and assasinated Darimon while dressed up like Ticanee. Garen managed to rescue her before she was killed, and so it was Velani that was able to confirm Darimon's assasination. When the Shamibelians invaded and chaos erupted, Velani was trapped behind enemy lines and was not heard from for many many months. It was found out later that during that time, Velani led a guerilla group of fighters called the "Warriors of Three" and was joined by the dolo-oshta where she finally fell in love with him.

Shortly thereafter, however, the dolo-oshta died, and insisted that out of respect for Ticanee tradition, the next Ticanee leader, Torvahl, should marry Velani. It was his dying wish. Velani is revered as a heroine by the Firan people, though they find it very strange and somewhat loathesome that she married a Ticanee. Her gift of prophesy is still strong. She's a sarcastic feminist. She and Torvahl have two children: Taria and Vahlon.
