The Kinslayer War
The Kinslayer War and the related riots have thrown the Republic into disarray and on the brink of a complete collapse. The Olympics are completely cancelled. Clan Leaders have a tenuous control of their clan armies and the Republic military has broken to pieces. The Elianiks have gone into complete hiding in order to protect themselves from rioters, democracy is making a rise and no one is certain what lays ahead. Those venturing out this winter may find themselves mugged, lynched or worse since the First Division is not around to control the crime wave.
Game-wide Poll
Three new ballots are available for voting. Vote to express your opinions! See December 2009 Ballot for further details.

Rissik Family Tug O' War
The history of the once-royal Rissik family is a checkered one - and a new chapter has just begun. Clan Leader Ania has announced that the Rissiks, many of whom have Eagle blood, are now members of her clan. But this is complicated by Ania's missing medallion; without it, her decisions are subject to extra scrutiny, and Chimera Clan Leader Torianos has declared her ruling illegal. With the two clans at odds with each other, the Clan Council is set to make a decision on the matter. What will become of the once-great Rissiks? Is a Clan Leader without a medallion still considered a Clan Leader in the eyes of her peers?

Avahlon Missing
Prince Avahlon Elianik was sent to the Uffian Oracles to learn his place in the world. He has been missing for two weeks and nobody is sure exactly where he is. He picked up his bow and sword to help with the nightmare issue plaguing the Oracles. The Oracles assure everyone he is probably fine. Probably.

A New Viceroy???
The city is all abuzz with the shocking proposals put forth to the Clan Council by the entire Elianik family, which seems to be united in their petition. The request is to replace Lord Viceroy Taleo Teranzik with one of their numbers instead of appointing a new deputy viceroy. It did not seem to matter to the Elianiks which one should be the new viceroy, just that one of them should hold the office. The clan council was not inclined to replace the viceroy yet as he has the Ranivor's medallion with him while on a second honeymoon with is wife, Her Honor Taria of the Ticanee. The proposition has been tabled to the coming year so that the Elianik family could campaign among the nobility and clan council for the vote. The question becomes, why stop at viceroy and not go for Ranivor?
New Eagle Elections
Testing new electoral theories, the Eagle clan is being given the opportunity to elect advisors to Her Honor Ania. The Council of Three will consist of three elected positions in the categories of Military, Finance and Justice. The advisory positions are not directly empowered to make decisions but the opinions expressed will be given consideration. Those qualified can be elected to the position for a three year term with re-election based upon action or inaction.

Nobody Expects...
In a shocking turn of events, Princess Lucretia Elianik was brought forth to the Inquisition. Though not willing to stand by so silently, the Princess spoke up to the believers to take a short vigil while she honorably agreed to answer Father Rasmus' questions. She was later absolved of any doubts or suspicions, being a true follower of the faith. A very generous donation was made to the Light of Zutiv with Father Rasmus hinting that others followers should donate as well. Now while announcements appeared to seem no harm was ever done, trinkles of heated words and disagreements arose at how this Inquisition was handled.
Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Angered on behalf of the Elianik Family had how Princess Lucretia was treated during her Inquisition, Prince Banian challenged Lord Cortik to a duel for failing to to serve this Good Gold Dragon. The Royal Griffon Battle Royale interrupted, the two nobles faced off leading to Cortik standing above Banian's fallen form. Regardless of the outcome, perhaps the Prince's words were enough to remind Lord Cortik to guide those GGD during those times of need.
Death Becomes Him?
The Firan forces went out to the FFI lands to look after a missing patrol. While there, they discovered a messenger had delivered a message for the Shamibelian forces. They were able to clear the Tibenya farm land and gain one more space for Republic activities. Two of the patrol were located and they have been freed. Sadly, Lord Emancipator Firgus, alleged liberator of Ellish, did not make it. He died bravely in battle holding the Shamibelian line. His last words including him calling out the names, "Zerik! Therostan!" Of course, by the time the news gets around, Firgus' last words include 'Hahaha, I crucified Ticanee to the end!' and the poem, "Lord Evander you little fecker; you just hate me for my big pecker!". A fitting end, the Gold Dragons think...it would have only been better if he had a whore while he was dying.
On the Road Again
A collective mismatch group of Firans and a Bonduin gathered outside the southern gates on a mission, apparently, by Lord Elik himself. His guide led this band through the southern regions where they were met with misadventures and a supposed "dog flu". A rumored item recovered and a mysterious young girl were seen in their company following their week's journey. Not much else is widely known but considering it an Elikian Trek, the curious minds might inquire after Sir Karish, Judge Minister Ladonna, Dame Balinda, Initiate Lirinaya, Priestess Emee, Mes Willow, Mes Arpessa or Mer Gaddineez.

Player Survery
The Player Survey was a voluntary survey of the playerbase led by Head Wizard Adam. Each player who completes the survey received 2 CP. The data is stored anonymously without any association to the exact player. The data was collected for two weeks and then compiled into a spreadsheet. The results summary: We're about 29.5 years old, though women are a little older (30.8 years) than men (28.1). There are slightly more women (52) than men (45%). The average player has been active here for 3.9 years, regardless of their sex, though the median tenure is rather higher for women (3.9 years) than for men (3.0 years). The typical player first visited Firan 5.1 years ago.
Civilian Tour II
The Civilian Tour II begins Monday 3 August 2009 and shall continue for approximately three to four weeks. Announcements will be made in a week or two with the exact dates. Those civilians and military officers going to Ellish, be certain to be appraised of all the IC and OOC Checklists listed here. Many previous plots shall unravel including diplomatic relations with the Bonduins, Vrelanders, FFI and Griffon Loyalists as well as the outcome of Mer Tioran's death in Ganger territory.

Ellish Tour II
Tour Two to Ellish was not without its loses and heroism. When word reaches Anarinuell of the rescue of Lord Centurion Battimus Ista Barun and Sentry Elvetus Emagalish, a great cheer went up until they realized the rest of Lord Banian's speech was calling for prayers because Lord Zerasmus Didoran whose bravery resulted in the rescue of two men is on his deathbed. People began to flock to the temples to pray for the heroic nobleman's recovery.
Romantic Revelations
There's nothing that appeals to the hearts of the common people more than the unfolding twists and turns of romance in the noble classes, and when it involves royalty there's nothing better. After the last civilian tour rumours have begun to flitter through the taverns in Anarinuell talking of the closeness between Acting Queen Teonia Elianik, Prince Savaren-who-should-have-been-Ranivor Elianik's widow, and Clan Leader Torianos Elikista...Although there's a touch of scandal there, as well, as they've been openly hiding away in Torianos' tent for hours at a time. Are they playing poker?! Bear nobility really ought to know better than to act with such improriety, but widows get a bit of leeway in Firan culture. Plus, everyone assumes it's just Torianos' savage nature rubbing off. Overall, the match is overly romantacized, and people place wagers on when the betrothal announcement will be given....Because the people have little patience for romance games that end in disappointment.

Eagle Clan Civil War
In light of Deputy Viceroy Prince Rislan Elianik's recent speech beckoning for clans to come together to smash the Eagles, and /not/ to use the force of the Republic to pacify the situation, a rift between old and young, between hot-headed and cool-headed grows. Those old enough to remember the Alliance Wars shudder at the speech, pointing out to the young and scholarly the similarities between Rislan's words and his father's actions, while Hydras and Gold Dragons and the young gloryhounds clash spear-to-shield over the idea in approval of Prince Rislan.
Ballista Troubles
Word got around that a stand off happened between Lord Firgus Manosik and a number of Ticanee concerning a pair of ballistae that were inadvertantly aimed at the Oshta Estate. Rumor has it that the Gold Dragon Lord went up in flames spontaneously! He's been arrested by the Ticanee and charged with a number of crimes -- is this war between the GDs and Ticanee? Clan Leader Ojitar declared Firgus a betrayer and sentenced him to an Inquisition aside from facing numerous courts for his crimes. Whether or not his titles and rights remain is dependent on the outcome of these trials.
Troubling Festival Prize
Priestess Chelona gave her marriage prize to Lord Octavian, who has in turn, apparently decided to marry Lady Cecilia. Neither family seemed particularly pleased about the match, and apparently Prince Argin destroyed the festival pavilion in a rage over it. In the end, an unusually calm and collected Clan Leader Taria happily welcomed her new daughter-in-law to the Ticanee Clan - complete with a hug! And as a wedding present, Taria issued forth a list of time honored Ticanee Traditions in order to prepare the new couple for marriage. Neither is to couple for six months, all Ticanee are to speak -only- Ticanee in Cecilia's presence and a new duty was given to Cecilia as Clan Minister of Agriculture, teaching the Ticanee how to muck the stables.
April
Spring Festival
The Spring Festival of 46 A.U. happens the last week of April and the first week of May 2009. Nobles are expected to host the minimum of one event during the two week festival period in order to avoid social adjustments. Commoners may approach a noble to co-host an event, which in turn, would fulfill the noble event obligation. Princess Laytania Elianik and Lady Delegate Xamori Teranzik are this year's organizers and they are seeking all interested candidates for coordinator and assistant positions.
The Return Home
The Eagle Clan's state of affairs remained initially rocking after the resounding vote in favor of accepting the Republic's protection. Though after months of waiting for the Lord Viceroy and the Prince High General to listen and act upon their requests, the democrats begin to re-emerge and speak up. Council Hours and Judicial Courts were re-established. The momentem toward stabilizing the clan appeared well until news broke regarding a democrat's death. Questions are raised behind the cause of the death and whether or not the democrats are truly protected as promised. Events and investigations continue, including into the cause behind the District's Fires in the wake of the Eagle Exodus.

February 2009
Civil War
The Eagle Clan has erupted into a full scale civil war. The continued fighting and questionable leadership in sight, the First Division has set guards outside the Eagle District and sealed their gates. An imposed embargo is meant to starve the citizens out in the hopes to quell their rage. In Luragadin, the Battle of Freedom's Peak is a great defeat for the Republic. Thirty Eagle pilots fought an air force ten times its own size. Below in the city, the Eagles captured the lead commander of the ground forces, Lord Cortik Junik. It is anyone's guess what is the Gold Dragon's fate after he reaped violence a week ago in Lurashar.
Soldiers Return
The victory for the Republic at Ellish is met with massive losses. Captain Karish and Lady Srenni were saved by the arrival of the Republic's Air Force as well as the Second Division, led by Prince Agrin. Bolstered by the calvary, the soldiers fought hard to keep the stronghold in Ellish. The Third Division remains behind but with lesser spirits.
Chaos in Firan
Battles continue in numerous cities in Firan as the Shamibelian aggression presses onward. Unotran and Lurashar nearly fell captive as a slaves to the Shammies until the naval and aerial assualts led by the IstaNydiam Siblings, Simonik Dranieez and Lord Judanus Corinala sent the ships out to the sea. Other clans such as the Bears, Chimerans and Hydrans prepared their main cities for an invasion. Anarinuell, still on alert from the recent air raids, increased security about and within the walls while the Eagle Clan erupted into civil war. No better news is heard from Ellish as the Shamibelian Forces appear to have gained the upper hand against the Republic and Griffon Loyalists. A failed manuever pits Captain Karish Karanik and his men outside the gates while Lady Srenni Ista Zayes is pressed between two Shamibelian Armies. The newly arrived Republic Air Force has managed to keep the Shammie Griffons away but the soldiers below still need to make it to the gates.
January 2009
Ellish, Lurashar and Anarinuell
The internal struggles amongst the Republic provided the perfect opportunity for the Shamibelians to attack. Numerous battles were fought to protect the cities -- Battle of False Flags in Unotran, Banian's Run, and the First Air Raid of 45 A.U.. Casualties occurred but more limited than what could have happened. The Republic unites and continues to fight, struggling in Ellish against a horde.
Plight of the Eagles
Rumors spread that the current Eagle medallion is lost! Prince Lianos stepped forth to reveal a medallion on his neck. Prince Zaridos adamantly protects his sister's reign. And Clan Leader Ania seems to be terribly ill since her return. Confusion spreads. The Eagles are divided. Other clans are offering refuge to Eagle citizens, including new clan citizenship. The gates were closed and riots are happening. What will be the future for this clan?
Firan Olympics
The Firan Olympics are not around the corner come February 2009. The Olympic Coordinators did scramble to prepare rosters amongst the chaotic aftermath of the Trial of the Century; however, the increasing conflicts between the Gold Dragons and Bears, in addition to the questionable nature of the Eagle Medallion and Leadership.
Godly Troubles
The gods have spoken. Four appearances have been made thus far and more activity stirs in the Temples. Uf expresses her anger through a vision received by Priestess Shade. Srenna, perhaps displeased with Lord Primo, causes his blessed bracelet to burn its way off his wrist. Believers (and non-believers) enter the Temple to try to pick up the bracelet. Many are burned, others not, but her Priestess Lady Srenni is proven worthy and becomes the Second in the Temple. Elik speaks to one of his Initiates regarding his anger resulting in an increase in Elikian ceremonies as well as a prosperous Ceremony of Spring (blessing the lands) led by Priestess Timandra. Eesha splits her altar in two. Her Temple coordinates to discover how to deliver their Lady's wishes. And if it isn't the Poly-Temples that are having difficulties, the True Temple led an Inquisition against Mer Archon for false worship.
Trial of the Century
The Trial of the Century continues with a verdict by the Religious Council. Conflict rises as clans and royals splinter on opposite sides of the issue.
Neonobility vs Old Blood
The old debate of neonobility versus old blood escalates. The Iberik and Tanelish families change with a judgment by the Eagle Clan, led by Princess Laytania. The neonobility family of Lasanna is moved from the Iberiks and into the neonoble family of the Tanelish. As a result of recent events from the latest tour of Ellish to the Trial of the Century, the prestige of nobility lowers; commoners begin to question their place and one in particular calls for a reorganization of society all together -- no more nobility.
A Pox on Your Houses
Deaths rise in the recent turnouts of this unfamiliar illness plaguing the children. The "little star" of the IstaNydiam Royal Family returns to the arms of Unot. Clan Leader Diamia requests that no condolences be sent regarding her youngest daughter - Lady Amaryllis.
