WITAN

Not much is known about the truth of Witan or his life before 38 AU. He arrived in Anarinuell in the summer of that year and quickly made his presence known when he gave a shocking speech: he claimed to be the illegitimate but noble-born son of the siblings Pertinax and Willona Didoron. He was arrested with haste, but soon thereafter others came to speak in support him. In the fall of that year a trial was presided over by Clan Leader Diamia herself, with Lord Rikon as the prosecutor and Witan speaking in his own defense. A mob gathered outside the Didoron estate, furious with the family; the mere notion of a brother and sister having a child drudged up old ire against the family. Her Honor Diamia had to eloquently plead for the mob to move from the estate to the Judgement Green to witness Witan's trial.

In this trial, Witan's supporters -- the alleged Solian priestess Basiana and a Mer Uveez -- were declared charlatans, as was Witan himself. Their story crumbled further when Uveez confessed to lies and pleaded for mercy. Witan was judged guilty of treason to the Cockatrice throne, dubbed "Witan the Pretender" and sentenced to death in a particularly agonizing fashion: by having all the bones in his body shattered and his broken body woven upon a wagon wheel, for all the clan to see.

His supporters, Basiana and Uveez, were also declared traitors and Her Honor Diamia put a price on their heads.
