Overview
Zekki is considered one of the more mature, well-known, and often looked up to members of the Ticanee clan. She's gone to war before, as a Farrier, and so the Firans like her too. It helps that she has always had incredible sex appeal and a deep "Kathleen Turner-esque" seductive voice. She's competent at everything she does: mother, veterinarian, wife, cook, and teacher. She's even a decent hunter when she puts her mind to it, but now that she's getting on in years, it seems a little less fun than it did in her youth. Anyone who knows her would say that she gives excellent advice and generally lacks the fiery temperment that is so common in Ticanee women. Which is not to say that she's a pushover. When the woman has her mind set on something, she's nearly immoveable, and she is braver than many men. She also has a take charge personality when she sees things need to be done, and loves to talk to new people and make new friends. She takes many people under her motherly wing. Some Ticanee occasionally say that she's too Firanized, since she worships Soli, and indeed, has even spoken often about becoming a priestess. And it's true too that Zekki will often wear Firan clothing if it suits her, and she is going to a Firan occasion. But Zekki has a very good understanding and memory of how the Ticanee people used to live and be, and she is usually respected for this. Zekki holds to the traditional viewpoint that twins are an abomination and an affront to the gods.

Family Life
There is nothing more important to Zekki than her family or the many people that she claims as her family. She is fierce in her protection of them and while slow to anger, not exactly someone you'd want to tangle with.
Marriage
First Marriage: Saltuk and Zekki had one of the long standing relationships in the clan. They fought a great deal, but everyone knew that no matter how much they bickered, they'd likely to be together forever. His loss hurt a great deal, but he died a hero's death fighting the Carnotti in a mission for the Republic. (See 'news Saltuk')
Second Marriage: Zekki and Ekenon were married on May 25, 39 A.U. They courted a good, long time, over eight years by her count! Zekki is well past her childbearing years, so she has in him a companion for later in life. She also is helping the poor Cottonmouth line, helping make sure it does not dwindle and die out.
Children
Primo is the first and last living child of Zekki, which in many ways, makes him her pride and joy. She brags about her heroic son to whoever will listen, and if there's any real weakness in Zekki's usual reasonable outlook on life it's that she tends to think her son Primo can do no wrong. He married Lady Xenobia becoming a lord of the house of Dawn and together they have given her many grandchildren.
Zekki's daughter Lotis was always a level-headed young woman, a trait Zekki often admired about her - so much that she occasionally wondered which one of them was really the more responsible maternal type. Lotis hardly ever gave her a day of trouble in her life, and was an excellent artisan. Lotis was adopted, with Zekki's consent as Xenobia's daughter to further the Dawn noble house, after Saltuk died. Lotis eventually married Radik and they had a son Lotuk, born spring of 23 AU. Lotis' death was quite a shock - she was perfectly healthy, and the birth seemed, until the very end, to be progressing as normal. She did have an hour or so before she died, to say some final good byes. The family was quite upset by the death - mostly because they had already experienced -so- much angst and death that one more thing was too much to bear (See 'news Lotis')
Zekki's younger son Tansel was always a real handful. Opinionated and rather known for his disdain of all things Firan, he proved to be quite exasperating as a child - sadly something that never really did change as he grew older. She knows that the rest of the family often clashed with his rather narrow-minded views. Despite his difficulties, Zekki was always very patient with him, knowing that he just needed a little extra affection from her and unconditional love. He lived a very passionate life, from banishment to marriage, to eventual fatherhood until his rather untimely death in 36 A.U. Zekki never stopped loving her son through it all and hopes that in death he has finally found the peace he always seemed to be looking for. (See 'news Tansel')
Zutrinia was a cute little girl that Zekki adopted, born somewhere around October of 16 A.U. Unlike Lotis, Zutri always seemed more content to pose as a boy and follow in the footsteps of her older brother, Primo, than her sister. No matter how hard Zekki tried, she never really could get her youngest daughter to embrace her womanhood. In the end, Zutrinia enlisted in the Republic military where she eventually fell in battle alongside her sister-in-law, Jeronika, when their griffon was shot down by the Shamibelians. Though many have told Zekki to give up and accept her daughter as lost, she has never given up hope that Zutrinia will one day be rescued and brought home to stay. (See 'news Zutrinia')
Zekki and Ekenon recently adopted Flora from the Ticanee Totems Orphanage and already loves the girl dearly. This isn't to say that Flora isn't without her flaws, but all children have stages and Zekki is determined to see the child through hers. She's begun showing her how to heal animals, and that it's hoping that it might be something they can share... and that also might help Flora become more socialized. Even if it's only with furred friends.
