Overview
Zelva Actis was only 23 when her family was ennobled in 25 A.U. and she became Lady Zelva Shadina. This was only a year after one of the most life-altering events of her life: her mother's death in the Air Raid of 24 A.U. She is a woman characterized by her desire to fight, her desire to protect and reclaim that which the Firans have lost. In many ways, she is a study of opposites. Despite being a soldier, she is part of a family that values manners and ettiquette above all else. She never compromises her propriety, wearing a stola, palla, and hairpins despite the fact that a tunic would be much more comfortable. Zelva loves nothing more than to create order from chaos -- a useful leadership skill that has perhaps been one of the reasons for her appointment to Minister of Defense.

Family Life
Parents
Naxa, Zelva's mother, was killed during the Air Raid of 24 A.U. The Shamibelians did horrible, absolutely horrible things to her before she died and it's something that drives her daughter to fight them as hard as she can, to this very day.
Her father, Lord Isio, married into the Tanelish family and the Eagle Clan some time ago.
Siblings
- Querash has long since been disowned from the Shadina family for marrying a commoner, Cyrilla, without permission.
- Lord Dedalion Shadina, Zelva's youngest brother, was murdered by his sponsoree Ojafi Vettle in 34 A.U.
- Zelva's father Isio and his second wife Suphi Tanelish also have three children together: Lady Lyra and Lords Istran and Xanth Tanelish.
Marriage
Although it looked like she would marry Lord Esen at one time, that all changed when her marriage to Lord Docci Ista Barun was arranged by clan leadership. In order to retain his nobility, and that of his children, he needed to swear loyalty to the Bears and marry into a noble family. The couple have since divorced and Lord Docci has gone on to marry Clan Leader Fidelia Ista Aldrik.

Kidnapping of Naxas
In 37 A.U., the Shadina Family's nanny Mes Raya Firabi went mad and kidnapped Zelva's eldest daughter from the estate. She was tracked down and executed -- by no other than Naxas' father Lord Docci. Naxas was returned, safe and unharmed.
