Zeysani's War: A Vote for Regency

During all this, the Hydran people failed to meet their needs for their economy largely due to Vahlgellan focusing more on politics than on the needs of the people. With the Hydrans not wanting the Republic to deny them trade on the basis of Vahlgellan, they started to call for free elections for a new Regent to hold the Medallion until Amenik came of age. Vahlgellan agreed to this as did Taleo, who called for the people to meet in the center of their district and agree upon their new regent.
The procedure met with utter chaos from tired, hungry, and unpaid members of the clan and Republic troops were ordered in to keep the peace, mostly after the Eagles fired ballistae bolts down on the district. The Hydra clan in its' entirety erupted into chaos, in all the various cities and holdings.
