Zeysani's War: Attack on Anarinuell

Warnings came of the Shami air-flights amassing, so the horns announcing an air raid were no surprise to the citizens of Anarinuell. The shock came when the ground to the south was lit by an explosion of flame. The Shamibelians had adopted a form of explosive oil unlike anything the Firans had ever seen which exploded upon contact. The Firan pilots were unaccustomed to night-flying and the raiders took it to their advantage, bombing the city and laying waste to many homes and apartments. The fire would not be extinguished with water, making efforts to stop the flame difficult.
But that was only the first. The raids continued during the entire course of the conflict with Arinzi, with the city instituting blackouts and fire-brigades. The second such nighttime attack destroyed many military and key targets. A daytime raid resulted in major victories for the Firan pilots when they were in the familiar lit skies, with Primo and his squad being able to drive back the attack by felling the Shami leader. The casualties came when the bodies of falling griffons crashed into the homes and businesses below in the city. More attacks resulted in more deaths and captures of Firan citizens.
