Zeysani's War: In Anarinuell

At the moment Zeysani was murdered, her twin brother Nydiam shriveled with age, becoming twice as old as he once was. His body changed, but his mind remained as young as ever.
The Eagles hailed Donos as their regent through their shocked sober tears. He was to hold the throne until Zeysani's daughter Princess Ania, secretly given her Ceremony of Souls, was ready. The Eagles as a whole were watchful and angry, wanting retribution for their great and painful loss.
The clans, as one, were in a state of shock. During this difficult time, Vahlgellan was escorted back into the city. He made it known that he did not order Draugik to act in his name and that he too was shocked and horrified by what happened. His only regret was not being able to run Draugik through himself. Vahlgellan called for the armies and troops to return home and prepare the city for attacks on the true enemy; the Shamibelians.
Taleo, after not getting the assurance that Vahlgellan was not doing this for his own ends, ordered an investigation to ensure that he would not seek revenge for past wrongdoings or use the Hydrans as a springboard to power.
Vahlgellan refuted with 'He wanted me to renounce my claim to the throne.' He claimed Taleo was trying to keep the Hydran under their heel and not help them unless they bowed to the whims of the Clan Council and Taleo as before.
During all this, the Hydran people failed to meet their needs for their economy largely due to Vahlgellan focusing more on politics than on the needs of the people. With the Hydrans not wanting the Republic to deny them trade on the basis of Vahlgellan, they started to call for free elections for a new Regent to hold the Medallion until Amenik came of age. Vahlgellan agreed to this as did Taleo, who called for the people to meet in the center of their district and agree upon their new regent.
