Zeysani's War: Pavan's Return

Historians and scholars cannot agree as one what this difficult period of Firan history should be called. Some call it the Second Hydran Civil War. Others call it the Arinzi Conflict. Yet another title sometimes given is Vahlgellan's Last Stand. The Eagle people refer to it as Zeysani's War. Regardless of the names given, one thing is agreed upon; this period was one of the darkest hours the Republic ever faced and the events touched the lives of all the Firan people. No clan was left unscathed and many doubt the damages done will ever be repaired.
The conflict began in March of 33 AU when Pavan, thought killed by Rodellos off the shores of the Eagle city of Lurashar, conquered the Hydran cities of Emsish and Arinzi with a surprise army. It was from Arinzi that Pavan made his demands known; for himself to be named Regent until Amenik turned 16 and to be married to Senika. If his demands were not met he would continue taking hostages, executing foreign noble prisoners, and burning cities.
This came about due to the long delays in the Clan Council naming a new regent to oversee Amenik until he came of age. There was no direct leadership within the Hydran clan with Lord Rodellos removing himself from politics. Pavan styled himself as the voice of the Hydran people, their one and only savior.
