Overview
Zinara Delphinus is a proper mes who feels strongly about traditions, as any Cockatrice might. She shows hospitality where she can, marriages are to be blind and the festival belongs in Cockatrice-controlled Sarkaran. However, she aspires to be something more. She just has to prove herself, right? She'll be someone of good standing, and perhaps bring her family out of the rut created by Aunt Gilda's death and Uncle Thallo's treason. Of course, there is no reason she can't have fun while she's at it. She's a cheerful woman with an ear for gossip afterall.
Description
A young woman with a dimpled nose, Zinara has hazel eyes, mid-back length wavy strawberry blond hair and fair skin. Zinara appears to weigh about 145 pounds and stands about 5'4" tall. Constantly fidgeting, Zinara simply can't seem to hold her hands still. Her gestures sweep widely as she explains what's on her mind; whenever she gets anxious, she hops from foot to foot like a little bird. Her curiosity tends to be the overarching expression that dances through her adorable amber-green eyes.

Family Life
Parents
- Sir Zalman
Sharanir and champion of the Acting Queen. That's who Zinara's father is. He dotes on her and she loves him for it. Sure, his work involves dirt and blood, things that Zinara despises, but she can avoid those things, right? Still, as she grew older tension started to build up. He is lackadaisical. He's forgetful. He needs to be pushed to do things. He is, at times, too apathetic for her tastes. Still, she loves him.
Lizandra is a workaholic. She is always busy with work and commissions, so her children don't get so much attention as they might. But Zinara loves her. Their only conflict seems to be about what Zinara could be, and that argument is unlikely to die anytime soon.
Siblings
Has Shazin ever smiled? Zinara isn't so sure. He's a brat and tends towards brooding. He loves to fight and get dirty. They're total opposites. Still, he's her brother and she loves him.
Zenisha is much like Shazin, only she doesn't throw temper tantrums. This is a good thing, on the surface. Then Zenisha wanders off without a care and this only worries Zinara. She'd like to help her younger sister find her path, and perhaps with a few other things too, but Zenisha seems to resent Zinara a little.
Marriage
Zinara Delphinus was married July 3, 42 AU to Mer Gadanoris of no last name in a traditional Cockatrice ceremony run by Priestess Jahala Dranieez. Notable people to attend were Clan Leader Diamia IstaNydiam and her brother Lord Aeryk, though some wonder if it was so she could tease him. Still, the wedding went through without a hitch... other than a certain frostiness underlying the bride's interactions with her new husband. Perhaps, with time, they'll learn to at least like each other. For now, Zinara has stated that she knows what her duty to the family is -- how romantic?

Enemies
Perhaps not an enemy to Zinara herself, but more to her family. Danae was married to Zinara's cousin Firnik. Her father Zalman allowed Danae to use the shop as a daycare and she turned out to be a slaver. Of course, she's dead now from suicide and was declared soul deathed, but that's still a blemish on the family overall.
Allies
Zinara's cousin and best friend. Jahala seems to always be there for her in sad times and teachers her things when she needs help. It's hard to say what Zinara would do without her.

Habits
- Fidgeting
For some reason, Zinara fidgets a lot. Whether it's checking her hairpins, smoothing her clothes or hopping from foot to foot, she's always moving. Always.
Likes
She may have been too young, but the Delphinus family once lived in Sarkaran. Besides that, she is a Cockatrice. Surely they'll get their city back. Some day.
- Tradition
What would the Cockatrice be without their traditions? Zinara wholeheartedly supports them, even if a blind marriage is a bit worrisome. Still, they are important, and she fully intends to uphold them.
- Gossip
Perhaps she just likes to chatter her head off. Or maybe she likes to have a lot of knowledge about people. Whatever the reason, Zinara loves gossip.
- Debate
She's not happy unless she has something to discuss or debate. Even if she's incorrect, she likes that she can express her thoughts.
- People
Zinara is a social butterfly! It's common for her to frequent parties or chat it up with a stranger without hesitation.
- Fashion
Perhaps this stems slightly from the fact that she's a weaver and a tailor, but Zinara loves clothes and fashion. She might not always be able to follow the trends, but she sure is interested.
- Cleanliness
Blood and dirt? Disgusting. You'll never find Zinara in a kitchen, cooking carcasses, or cleaning the house. Seriously. She likes to be clean.
Dislikes
- Dringles
It's not so much Gold Dragons as what they represent that irks Zinara. She wants the clan to get Sarkaran back and that's all there is to it. The Gold Dragon clan is standing in their way. It got to the point once that her former sponsor Lady Emma Teranzik, daughter of Lord Jalil Firgalik, essentially told her to choose between sponsorship or her desire for the city's return. They parted ways after that.
- Haffies
Haffies are monsters. She thinks they shouldn't be allowed anywhere near those that are upstanding citizens. They're just too far under them.
- Savages
While savages such as Bonduins and Ticanee aren't nearly as bad as Haffies are, they still aren't wonderful. Ticanee are a bit better than Bonduins, at least. She can't help it. She'll avoid them for the most part, with few exceptions.
- OCer
People from the Old City smell. They're terribly dirty, too. You could show them hospitality and they'd likely shove it in your face and violate guest friendship. That's no good.
- Blood and dirt
Ew ew ew. She'd rather call others to deal with those things.
