Overview
Zutriana Jaldrish was born in Arinzi on 2 February 26 AU to commoner parents. Those closest to her have learnt the horrific story behind their death and her eventual arrival in the capitol city. When she was eleven she was adopted by the Jaldrish family. Still not comfortable with wealth or displays of it she tends to dress simply. Every piece of jewelry she owns was given to her by friends and family as she considers buying it to be wasteful. Despite her age Zutriana is someone that her friends turn to for advice, experience having given her mature views on many matters. Today she is an apothecarist with an eye to study midwifery at some point in the future.
Personality & Beliefs
Zutriana can at times be the quiet and reserved girl she was when she came to the city and that can make her difficult to get to know well. She is always kind, gentle, and sensitive to the feelings of others, often putting them before herself. It does not matter what task or chore she's given -- she gives everything her all, without even considering less. Above all else, Zutriana wants to be seen as a contributor. She wants to help people and make them feel better about themselves and the world around them. In every raindrop there is a rainbow waiting to come out, in every snowflake a glittering treat for the eyes. Zutriana is the type of person who looks for the good in everyone and is upset with herself if she meets someone who she cannot find any good in, seeing it as her own failing rather than theirs.
Zutriana is a devout monotheist. She is not the kind to loudly or forcibly try to correct those who are not true believers, but she is firm in her belief that those who are not are severely misguided - none more so than the Ticanee who pray to totems or Drikists.

Family Life
Zutriana was born with no last name, the only child of a farmer and his wife. They lived in a relatively simple two room abode. She knows that when her mother died she was pregnant with the couple's second child. Zutriana was around seven when her parents died during Zeysani's War. Her mother was murdered by occupying forces and her father died of injuries sustained when rescuing Zutriana from a fire.
It was not until four years later that she had a family again. Zutriana is very grateful to the Jaldrish Family for taking her in and has done everything she can to show her gratitude and love for them.
Parents
Kalchus - Kalchus is Zutriana's adopted father, but as her own father died when she was only seven, she had longed for someone to care for her. Kalchus is kind-hearted and seems to do that, to genuinely care for her. She considers herself lucky to have him as her 'Papa' and does her best to try and be the best daughter possible.
Themissa - Themissa is soft-spoken and kind-hearted. Though she was very close to her real mother, who died when she was but seven, Zutriana has done her best to form a bond with Themissa.
Siblings
Kalissa - Kalissa was Zutriana's best girl friend, and now she is her older sister. In her old life Zutriana was an only child and never imagined the fun it could be to have a sister. She likes to give Kalissa gifts and in return Kalissa gives her things too. At first they were hand-me-downs, but in recent years Kalissa has gone out of her way to find little special gifts for Zutriana. There is a close bond between the two, their relationship still a friendship at heart.
Tydean - Tydean is older than Zutriana too, but only by a year. He whines a lot and cries more than any baby she has ever known. He is nothing like what a warrior should be and has decided that she is going to make it her job to toughen him up before his Ceremony of Souls. If he becomes a whining, crying, man he will embarrass the entire family.
Bela - Little Bela is the younger sibling that Zutriana was deprived of in her previous life. She tried to distance herself from Themissa while she was pregnant with Bela for fear that the baby might die in childbirth. Now that it's clear that Bela has lived and is a healthy baby Zutriana is rather pleased to be a big sister. She took Bela for her first bath and has plans to show her how to be a good Hydra girl and whip those lazy boys into shape.
Marriage
Despite some offers and one attempt, Zutriana, currently is unmarried.
Children
Zutriana has no children presently.
Accomplishments
Zutriana is an avid herbologist studying under one of the city's best. She helped to produce compresses for the clinics during the Red Bloom Plague of 40 AU.
Enemies
Pontius - Zutriana doesn't have it in her to hate anyone, but if she did Pontius would likely be top of her list. She only usually refers to him as that man if she refers to him at all. Her ill feelings about him proved to be founded as he was discovered to be a murderer and was killed for his crimes.
Rodiste - Lord Proxy Rodiste N'Gato is perhaps a strange person to list as someone Zutriana dislikes. She blames him for the violence perpetrated against Kalissa following the kidnapping of the heirs and Kalissa's poorer health since. She will be respectful to him as his station and her's dictate, but she does not like him - in fact since his ill treatment of her during the day of her planned wedding Zutriana avoids Rodiste as best she can.
Allies
- Lord Paydor N'Gadinik - A childhood friend and now Zutriana's sponsor.
- Mer Tyrin Jaffus - A young Cockatrice that Zutriana has known since childhood. They both share an affinity for healing people and caring for orphans and others who might otherwise slip by unnoticed by society.
- Sentry Alastor Coyote - Originally a Chimera orphan Alastor got himself adopted by a Ticanee couple. He is keen on animals and always interesting be around. Zutriana considers Alastor her guide to dealing with the Ticanee and their ways. She wasn't too certain at first about his wife, Jesika, because of her former line of work but Zutriana is pleased to see her friend so happy.
- Mer Hufimo Fengan - The best of Zutriana's male friends. Hufimo has a trouble background, but despite it Zutriana has remained his friend. She bounces all of her crazy ideas off of him and listens carefully to his advice.
- Mes Elyssa Firabi - A former Hydra, Elyssa and Zutriana became fast friends on Spring Festival just before Elyssa married into the Gold Dragon clan. She is a very girly woman, quite unlike Zutriana herself. But Elyssa can offer advice on things Zutriana might be too nervous to discuss with her sister.
- Mes Uryella Firabi - Uryella is a mixture between a maternal figure and an aunt in Zutriana's eyes. She confides in Uryella and talks to her about the things she would take to Themissa, were not the later often occupied with her own duties and responsiblities. Uryella is Zutriana's mentor as an apothecarist. Her dream is to one day be as skilled as Uryella is.
- Mer Anarios Apellon - An Eagle with a penchant for imbibing too much wine, their friendship seems unlikely on the surface. Zutriana is certain she is the claming influence in Anarios' life, whereas he challenges her to defend her beliefs and way of life. After a while the pair attempted to marry, but things fell apart. Anarios has since married someone else.
Scandals
Kalchus' Shame - In 40 AU Kalchus was accused of disrespecting male members of the noble N'Gato Family, namely Lords Katarus and Rodiste. Things escalated to the point that the Jaldrish home was entered by Lord Rodiste and then Acting High Priest Sedarius Firabi. The search produced evidence of some kind and Kalchus, a devoted servant to the late Clan Leader Belik, and head of security for His Honour Amenik, was charged by the current clan leader with failure to protect the Hydra royal family. It was stated that Kalchus may have conspired to compromise the Istabelik's security. Kalchus was given quarter and ordered to take up a new vocation within a year of the judgment.
The Festival Peace - In 41 AU Zutriana was to wed Mer Anarios Appellon of the Eagle Clan. This had long been arranged through the Eagle Clan proxy, Prince Lianos, and the Hydra Proxy Lord Lutrios. She was to change clans. The day of the wedding came and so did summons from Lord Proxy Rodiste N'Gato. He believed she had tricked him and the other Hydra proxy into agreeing to a marriage to an unsuitable man and publicly whipped and humiliated Zutriana in front of several witnesses. This was during a sacred Festival. She was placed under house arrest, the wedding cancelled, and Rodiste was thrown out of the Zutivian Bretheren for his actions. A month or so later she was found innocent of all charges by His Honour Amenik and released, allowed to marry Anarios if she so chose but to remain a Hydra.
Miscellany
Zutriana is an avid beekeeper. When she was younder she wanted to be one professionally but was told by Lord Proxy Lutrios N'Gadinik that such a thing was too dangerous for a Hydra woman. That hasn't stopped her from still keeping bees, just made her not choose it as a vocation. She adores everything about honey; the smell, taste, colour and the shape of the honeycomb.

Habits
Zutriana is not preoccupied with her looks. Her work and duties come first, as such her hair will often be mussed or fussed with as she talks - not out of vanity but because when she stops working to talk is when she becomes aware her hair is messy.
Likes
- Zutiv - A devout woman, Zutriana is often found singing songs of praise while going about her daily routine. A Hydran Pollyanna she finds Zutiv in everything good around her and his challenges in everything that's not so good.
- Helping others - Eager to give back to society as she feels it has given her so much, Zutriana often volunteers to do things to help others. She has no qualms about offering to do something that puts herself in danger if she feels those who it will aid have a need greater than her own.
- Giving gifts - Zutriana likes to make others happy. She is known for giving her friends gifts for their birthdays or just because she feels like it.
Dislikes
- Liars - Like all who believe devoutly in Zutiv, Zutriana believes lying is wrong and a slap in the face of the One True God.
- Shamibelians - It was under the leadership of the halfie Draugik that Zutriana's birth parents came to die. She believes Shamibelians are evil and should die. They have no souls, they do not deserve to live.
- Halfies - Halfies all have the same evil blood in them that Draugik did, therefore they too might turn to the dark side and should not be trusted. Ever.
- Drikists - These vile beings should not be trusted. They should be made to live out their lives in the furthest reaches of the world. If they love the goat god so much, Zutriana, thinks they should be sent to Ellish to see how it really is amongst those who worship the vile pagan deity.
- Prejudice against monotheism - Zutriana believes too many pagans are prejudiced against members of the True Faith. She finds many of them to be hypocrites who demand special treatment from monotheists, but refuse to give equal treatment in return. This is a big pet peeve for her.
